I can barely contain my excitement – I am leaving TOMORROW for D23!!  I was actually in Anaheim two years ago when the conference was happening but didn’t know what I was missing…

I knew I couldn’t miss it this year, so I have been counting down for almost two solid years for my chance to attend!  It’s going to be so much fun… complete with an adorable Disney Cosplay planned.

I’ll probably send out a D23 Update specific email next week since they will have SO many exciting things to announce!  If anyone has any tips or tricks for me to get the most out of this experience, please let me know!

If you follow me on Instagram, get ready for some FOMO… thanks to my awesome network of Disney nerds, I was able to score some highly coveted tickets to a private event hosted by Disney Movie Rewards!  SO many things to be excited about!!

Disney News

I can’t even begin to tell you how many people ask about “partial day” tickets… and now… it’s a thing!  For a limited time, Disney is offering a “Mid-Day Magic Ticket” which allows you to enter the park after 12 p.m. for a pretty decent discount.  This is the first time they have done something like this… what do you think?

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party has officially begun this year!  If you’re one for spoilers (or if you aren’t planning a trip this year) check out this preview of the fireworks show hosted by Jack Skellington.  Right now, I actually don’t have plans to attend but I think that needs to change…

Speaking of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, they just announced that they are going to be selling a special ticket that allows you to visit almost ALL of the parties.  If I were really local… I’d so do this.  You can read all about it here.  The only party you can’t get in to would be Halloween itself… but let’s be honest, by then, you’d probably be a little “Halloween-ed” out…

On our last trip to Disney, we let our girls do the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for the first time.  It was the most amazing experience, to say the least!  We went to the location in Downtown Disney… there is another in Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom, and now they have just recently opened one in Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa!

The new NBA Experience is now open at Disney Springs. This is a new experience that has taken over the space where Disney Quest used to be.  Reviews have been mixed, but if you’re a big basketball fan I think you’ll really enjoy it!  You can buy tickets in person or online in advance here

Have you been participating in the runDisney Virtual Series this summer?  I was so excited when they announced the Marvel theme, and even MORE excited when they announced that runDisney was going to be at the 2019 D23 Expo – and how you can earn the Black Panther Virtual Medal there.  It’s almost like West Coast runDisney is back, kinda.

When is it okay for us to start stalking the weather report for Wine & Dine this year?  Too soon?  Not soon enough?  Weather for this weekend has been… well… complicated.  The average temperatures for this weekend tend to be high in the low to mid-80s with lows in the mid-60s…

Speaking of Wine & Dine, it looks like the Post-Race Celebration this year is going to be pretty epic.  New this year, your post-race celebration ticket will allow entry into Epcot starting at 5 PM, there is a 10th Anniversary Celebratory Toast, a special jumbo pin available for purchase only during the party, a specialty cocktail in a glowing glass, unique character appearances… they’re really stepping it up this year!!

Travel Deals

Let’s talk Adventures By Disney.  These trips are numbers 1-100 on my bucket list.  Right now, there’s a pretty good deal to save $400 per person on most 2020 River Cruises.  Just shoot me an email if you want more information…

South Beach, anyone?  1 Hotel South Beach has a really cool promotion right now, book a retreat collection stay by 9/30 and you’ll receive a $400 cash gift card.  More information is available here, including the additional perks with these packages.

Cruises have been introducing travelers to exciting pockets of the world since the industry was born in 1844. And while destinations like the Caribbean, Europe and Alaska remain wildly popular among those hitting the seas, there are still lots of lesser-traveled cruise destinations waiting to be explored.

On The Blog

While I am attending D23, my husband is taking my kids back home to Texas to visit family.  I’m a little sad to be missing out – but has me thinking a lot about my wonderful home state.  There is no better state than Texas to visit if you want to experience the history and excitement of the Old West… Long Live the Alamo!

When it comes to runDisney, we know we aren’t in it to win it.  What are we in it for?  Medals and pictures.  Patty breaks down the best photopass tips and tricks to get the most Instagram-worthy pics on the blog… Do It For The ‘Gram!!!

Now, please excuse me while I prepare for D23.  I am sure my first visit will be full of rookie mistakes, but hopefully, I can avoid the big ones by doing a little research.  I still haven’t decided if I am going to sleep in line…

Something a little different for our runDisney runners… have you ever thought about a marathon in Jamaica?  Sandals has put together some really great packages for the famous Reggae Marathon this December, and I would LOVE to send you more information on it!

Apparently, in 2007 global contest was held and more than 100 million votes were cast for the New Seven Wonders of the World.  How many have you been to?  How many do you want to see?

Unfortunately, I’ve been hearing more and more about some really creative fake email airline scams.  These guys are tricky, so please be very careful … here are a few tips on how to avoid travel scams.

I read an article recently that really struck a chord with me that I wanted to pass on – it’s all about how spending money on experiences, and less on material objects, will automatically infuse more gratitude in your life.  I couldn’t agree more!

Please make sure you’re following me on Instagram this week – it is going to be FULL of me totally geeking out about ALL things DISNEY!  I can’t wait to share all of the new and exciting things that are coming!
