October is off to a pretty crazy start if I do say so myself!

It looks like some of my plans have changed, and I’m not going to be back on property until the opening of the Expo at this year’s Wine & Dine Half Marathon! Honestly – I’m okay with that. There has been a LOT of Disney going on.

My husband surprised me by booking a last-minute deal for an oceanfront patio suite at a cute little resort in Daytona for this weekend… to celebrate my birthday!

I’ve never been to Daytona so there will be lots to explore! Perhaps it would be a great place to tack on some beach time on your next Disney trip…

Speaking of birthdays, I’m really excited for mine this year. On Friday, before we leave, I’ll be doing something fun in my Instagram stories. Definitely tune in… especially if you’re a fan of Sparkle Athletic!

Now on to the FUN stuff!

Disney News

The number one thing I am most excited about this week is hearing that, in some locations, PhotoPass Photographers are BACK in Magic Kingdom!! They had recently replaced these awesome humans with not-so-awesome boxes and the results were terrible. Sure, they took pictures.. but… y’all. The good news is that Disney listened, and actual human beings who are able to capture the magic are back.  Not everywhere… but we’re getting there!

Speaking of PhotoPass… they now have an upgrade option that lets you get all of your photos and videos on a cute little USB drive. The “Disney PhotoPass Archive USB” is available for about $35 + shipping, and only for guests with the Memory Maker or AP.  Just click “Photo Products” when you’re logged in and you can order one today.

Conde Nast Traveler has released the Top Cruise Lines: Readers’ Choice Awards for 2019, and you guessed it, Disney Cruise Line takes the cake in the Large Ship category! It’s a little lower down in the Medium Ships list, but I’m sorry you can’t compare a Disney Cruise to a Crystal Cruise – those are apples and oranges people!!

Now let’s discuss what I know everyone is waiting to hear. The Skyliner. Guys. OMG. So… the Skyliner opened on September 29th, and as of October 5th has shut down indefinitely. Now… that only means that they don’t have a date to reopen, not that they’re shut down forever. But basically, some cars crunched together in one of the stations and shut everything down. People were stranded but ultimately rescued. Nobody died… and everything will be okay.

Last, but certainly not least, Early Morning Magic is BACK at Magic Kingdom! We have dates through early April… are you going to take advantage of the fun? The add-on ticket gives you access to some Fantasyland attractions before the park officially opens and you can enjoy six attractions: Mine Train, Little Mermaid, Princess Fairytale Hall, Small World, Mad Tea Party, and Winnie the Pooh. It also includes breakfast at Cosmic Rays… and will set you back an additional $89. (You have to have a ticket to the park, as well)

Wine & Dine Event Guide is LIVE!!! I have a post up now where I will keep as much information together as possible… we have course maps, merchandise, and some fun details… no corrals or waivers yet, but I will keep you updated.

For our 2020 Walt Disney World Marathon Runners… yesterday was the Proof of Time deadline for the 2020 races. (Princesses, mark your calendars for 11/19!) If you have yet to register, don’t fret. As long as you have your Proof of Time ready to go at the time you register – it should be taken into account. You will not be able to go back and add or edit it after you complete your registration.

Speaking of marathon registration – the full marathon has sold out in general inventory, but we can still get you into the race if you missed out!  Hotel inventory is VERY slim, so the sooner you lock in your package, the better!

It’s also a good time right now to evaluate your training plan! runDisney has some helpful training guides and tips on their website… go click over there and check it out!

Travel Deals

Disney Promotions have been released for the beginning of 2020 – right now, you can save up to 25% on rooms at select Walt Disney World Resort hotels for stays during most nights January 1 – April 25, 2020. Plus! Receive a $30 gift card for every person on the reservation (ages 3+) when you add 6-day or longer theme park tickets to your reservation.

They also have a Kid-Sized Free Dining Package that includes free dining for the little ones (age 3-9) when you buy a non-discounted 3-night/3-day package that includes a room at a select Disney Value Resort hotel, Theme Park tickets and a dining plan.

If you’re already booked with me, I’m actively reviewing every reservation (several times) to see if we’re able to apply these promotions to your existing trip! If you aren’t booked and want to book, you know what to do.

Really the only thing I can think of other than Disney right now is Hawaii. You’ll see why below. Right now I have some great specials at the Fairmont Kea Lani, Hawaii’s only all-suite and villa luxury resort. I’ve got partial ocean-view suites with an air credit for 5 nights starting at $2,189 per person and I’m so close to booking myself…

I have been working on a few things this week I want to share with you – the first being for my Charity runners! I’ve compiled a list of all participating charities for all upcoming races. Hopefully, you’ll be able to use this as a resource for finding the perfect charity to fundraise for this (or next) season!

I was featured on TWO podcasts this week!! Patty’s No Guilt FanGirl Podcast, and David Dollar’s Magic on a Dollar. Both were to talk about PARIS! I had so much fun on both and can’t wait to do it again.

When we were at Disney over the weekend, we finally had a chance to try out the Restaurantosaurus Burgers and Sundae dinner! Check out my review here, and definitely go for yourself!  … if there’s time!!  Right now they aren’t taking reservations past November 16th…

Last but not least… I posted a Disneyland Paris Dining Guide with step by step instructions on how to get your dining plan taken care of, in advance, ONLINE. They said it couldn’t be done… ha!

In news that maybe only I care about – the FIRST Humpback Whale of Hawaii’s 2019 Winter Season has been spotted!!! Little known Sarah fact: I am obsessed with whale watching in Hawaii.  It’s still a month away from the season officially starting – so this is super fun! Plus, Aulani would be a great place for some whale watching… just sayin…

This article popped up on my Facebook this week and I couldn’t agree with it more. Science Says Couples Who Both Love Disney Have Better Relationships. Guys, it’s SCIENCE!

One quick note for those of you traveling to Disneyland… LAX has ended pickups for Uber, Lyft, and taxis. The news sent shockwaves through the travel agent groups… but in an effort to ease congestion at the airport, they’ve stopped allowing these pickups. If you need to use the service, you’ll have to take a shuttle to a specific parking lot near Terminal 1.

For those of you Coffee fans, like myself, a friend of mine posted a link to this really awesome article about Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea… inside the company that provides Disney with some of the best coffee ever (if I do say so myself!) – definitely a fun read if you have a few minutes!

We are having a ridiculous amount of fun over on Instagram with our Countdown to RunDisney photo challenge.  I’ve found so many new runners to follow and have had the best time going back and reliving all the great memories!!

It’s not too late to join in!

Just use the hashtag #30DaysOfRunDisney to play along.
