In English… I’m going to Paris! Disneyland here we come!

We booked this package SO long ago… and it’s actually here. Guys, Disneyland Paris!! I am so excited I can hardly sleep.

I’ll be running all of the races, of course, and my husband will be running the 5K with me! It’s going to be so different from the runDisney races here at home… I can’t wait to experience everything.

We also have some dining reservations planned; Plaza Gardens Restaurant, Captain Jack’s Restaurant, California Grill at the Disneyland Hotel, and CHEZ REMY!!! I also found a way to book all of these online instead of having to make an international call to do so… more on that later…

I’m also ready to start getting information for the *two* Disneyland Paris races next year! If you’re ready… fill out the forms in the “runDisney” section below!

As always – I will be living on Instagram this week! Posting lots of pictures and videos and doing some IGTV tours of the cool stuff I see and do… it’s going to be amazing!!!

…. and there’s also HUGE Universal Studios news. Don’t forget about that!

Disney News

Can we take a minute to talk about the new Disney Busses? I was so pumped to find out that they were getting revamped, with WiFi and USB charging ports… and I loved the designs that featured the “Sensational Six”. Now, it looks as if they’re adding even more characters to the mix and I AM HERE FOR IT. I’ve seen Lion King, Monsters Inc, Moana, Dumbo… ROCKET and GROOT…

It’s no secret that I don’t do Disney bus transportation… but next time I am forced on to one it better be one with Groot on it.

On the topic of transportation, we are so close to adding another official form of transportation on the Walt Disney World Resort Property… the Skyliner! The news has been hilarious around social media, especially when it was discovered that they *do not* have air conditioning… eek! They started “Cast Member Previews” of the gondolas recently and from what I have heard, the majority of the reviews have been great!

There are currently two different new themed restaurants and lounges I am losing my mind over… The Enchanted Rose coming to Grand Floridian Resort, and a “Princess and the Frog”-themed restaurant that will go into Reflections – A Lakeside Disney Lodge!

You only have a few days left to enjoy the Main Street Electrical Parade at Disneyland Resort – the official last day of this parade is set to be September 30th. While I’m sad to see it go, I can’t help but be excited about the new parade in development… Magic Happens! I mean, check out that Moana parade float!

Last, but certainly not least, I wanted to loop you in on the Disney Bedtime Hotline! If your little ones would like a little extra magic, give 1-877-7MICKEY a call before bed! You can hear a special bedtime message from Mickey, Woody, Jasmine, Anna & Elsa, Yoda, or (our favorite) Spider-Man. Pro tip: start the call up to your ear, press 2 to skip the ads, and then put it on speakerphone!

I wanted to shoot over a general registration update for the 2019-2020 runDisney Season. If you still want to run, please fill out this form and we can get a quote for you…
     – Wine & Dine Half Marathon – no races are available, but we are having a lot of success getting last-minute room packages at resorts that have been previously sold out.
     – Walt Disney World Marathon – ALL race categories are available. 5K, 10K, Half, Full, and both challenges! Room inventory is a little tricker here, not much left as far as values go, but we’ve got those races if you want them!
     – Disney Princess Half Marathon – The 5K is sold out across the board, but we have 10K, Half Marathon and Challenge ready to go!  This is especially important because yesterday, the Fairy Tale Challenge sold out to the general public!  There are only a few 10K bibs left in our allocation, so I would move sooner rather than later on those if you want to run.  Room inventory is still pretty solid, but going quickly. Some of the more popular race resorts are booking fast… French Quarter, I’m looking at you…
     – Star Wars Rival Run Half Marathon – All races available! I will say, room prices for this race weekend are much higher than anticipated, and they’re only going to go up. If you’re thinking of this race weekend, I’d book sooner rather than later in case they have another quiet and unannounced room price increase!

Disneyland PARIS!! Ok – we’re good to go for packages for both of these race weekends. Right now, it’s just the initial deposit… so you will fill out this “interest form” and I’ll get a deposit invoice together. Once we have the authorization for the $250 deposit, we’ll get your information over to our supplier. They’ll begin booking the 5th Anniversary Disneyland Paris race on September 23rd, and the Disneyland Paris Princess Run Weekend on October 1st. Authorizing your card secures your place in line!

     – Disneyland Paris Princess Run Interest Form

And last but not least… technically not runDisney news… UNIVERSAL ORLANDO IS GETTING RACES!!!! If you want to run the race weekend, you can fill out this form and get on my list. As soon as I get more information about the races, you’ll be the FIRST to know!!  One super unique feature – it’s a 5K and a 10K and that’s it…

Universal had their first race weekend earlier this year in Hollywood, and have another one planned this November… so I can’t wait to see what they have in store for Orlando!

On The Blog

A trip to the beach promises plenty of fun in the sun, and staying aware of the various types of dangerous marine life you could come across is the first step in keeping yourself and others safe.

I wrote a really fun post over on No Guilt Disney with the differences between runDisney and runUniversal (yeaaaah okay know its “Running Universal” but I can’t help myself!!) – It’s a lot different than you’d think it would be!

You know you’re a Disney addict when your custom Mickey ears & Mickey ears headbands collection needs a whole wall to display at home. Ask me how I know…  If you’re looking for a new set for your next Disney Halloween party, Patty has a list of Mickey ears headbands for you to check out! Disney Halloween ears are found in the parks, online and custom Mickey Ears are all over Etsy.

Traveling with kids is not easy. They’re squirmy. They need to run around and be weird. It costs a fortune and even if money were no object, who has that kind of time? It’s one thing to dream about going away for the weekend, but it’s an entirely different ball game to make it happen… I am absolutely in LOVE with this article about Why Travel Should Be the New Birthday Party!

On the flip side of that coin, sometimes it is best to leave the kids at home and get away with … your MOM! Southern Living has a great article I’d love for you to read about Why You Should Plan a Trip With Your Mother Every Year. Alternate title: email Sarah and let her plan the best mamma-daughter getaway everrrrr…

Last, but not least, I wanted to give you a quick updated on Beaches Turks & Caicos. Probably my #1 resort request outside of Disney… we were all a little worried about what was going to happen with this resort. Great News! Beaches Turks & Caicos is here to stay!! We are able to book now for vacations starting October 15th.

I definitely skipped the “travel deals” section this week… but it will be back soon!  I just knew I’d be a little crazy with travel and not sure if I would have the time to devote this week on crafting some of those “other” vacations…

But as always – if you have something on your mind – please don’t hesitate to ask me!

See ya next week!
