We’re getting SO CLOSE you guys! Just a few more weeks until we all arrive to Walt Disney World for the 2020 Dopey Challenge!
I have been getting asked what are some good last-minute items to throw in your bag before the trip… so thought I’d make a quick little list!
So here you have it – 10 Things to add to your Amazon Cart for the Dopey Challenge!
1 – Layers
I have these shirts in almost every color. They are inexpensive, comfortable, and PERFECT to put under any costume you have planned! You never know what the weather is going to be like, so it’s good to have these just in case it’s too cold for that cute tank top!
2 – Mylar Blankets
So the runDisney blankets are adorable, but I like having extras just in case. Typically during the January races they’ll hand out blankets at the finish line… so I’ll get one after the 5K and use it for the 10K, get one after the 10K and use it for the half… you get the idea!
However, just in case they run out or you need an extra or you don’t have one laying around to use the morning of the 5K… go ahead and pack some extras!
3 – Hand Warmers
These are on sale right now so DON’T FORGET THEM! Overkill? Probably. However, I freeze easily… I also get cranky when I am cold. So these are the perfect addition to my suitcase. I’m crossing all crossables it’s not going to be THAT cold this year… but we have had some extremely chilly mornings during the Marathon Weekend races, so I’m not taking any chances!
4 – Coffee Coffee Coffee
Depending on the resort you’re staying in – you may have a K-Cup Coffee Maker. Typically, I bring pods with me. They have lots available, but I always forget to call and ask for more and then it turns into a whole thing… so I just bring my coffee with me!
There are tons of different options when it comes to K-Cups… this is one of my standard go-to options!
5 – Epsom Salt
Yes, I’m also the weirdo who travels with her own salt. Another thing to note – your resort MAY NOT have a bathtub. If that’s something that’s super important to you, make sure your travel agent has noted in your room package that you’d like to request a room with a tub!
I like this brand – I’m not the *biggest* fan of the lavender-scented kind, but the regular kind is a much bigger bag and I know a lot of you are going to have to check a bag… so saving a few POUNDS is a good idea!
Bonus Item: FLUFFY FIZZIES
This does bring me to another product I want to let you know about. Fluffy Fizzies!!!!! They are my absolute FAVORITE bath products, and will definitely be on-site at the expo this year as well. The recovery bath bombs are so great, and the theming of all the products is SO much fun.
I’m thrilled to be an ambassador for the company and will definitely have more information on this company and the products for you! But for now, I wanted to focus on the stuff that’s best for the Dopey Challenge weekend… The BOUNCE BACK CUBES!
Right now, you can save up to 20% on your entire order, so it’s a good time to shop! The Bounce Back Cubes are sold individually, in sets of 2, and sets of 4. Our Bounce Back Collection is designed for easing your muscles post-workout. Each fizzy includes:
- Magnesium Sulfate (Epsom salts) – used by many athletes as a soak to soothe sore muscles, assisting in recovery.
- Bentonite Clay – a natural detoxifier, bath soaks draw toxins out through the skin.
- Coconut oil – moisturizes the skin and is a natural antioxidant
- Eucalyptus oil – a natural anti-inflammatory
- Camphor oil – relieves cramping; natural analgesic
- Camphor oil – relieves cramping; natural analgesic
Two formulas are available. The OG Muscle Recovery formula also includes:
- Orange oil – reduces muscular spasms
- Wintergreen oil – promotes circulation
- Peppermint oil – alleviates muscle aches
The Chillax formula includes:
- Lavender – calms and soothes the mind and body
- Lemon – natural detoxifier and antiseptic
6 – Ponchos
Yes, again, I know that Disney has cute branded ones that are super fun but trust me on this – grab some of these. They’re small so easy to fit in your pocket or race bag, and you won’t feel bad throwing it away when you don’t need it anymore. Again, I hope we don’t *have* to use these… but… just in case…
7 – Body Glide
Another great thing to have on hand. I prefer the Skin Glide since it goes on like a lotion instead of a stick… but there are a ton of different options. You can pick this up at the expo as well, but you might as well get it now so you don’t have to worry about it!
8 – ChapStick
I wish I could buy a pack of like 100 of these because I am ALWAYS losing them. And, I ALWAYS need them! Having a good stash of chapstick is a good call… with lots of extras available.
9 – Fuel
These are my absolute favorite gels! The flavors are good, they’re not too thick, and they work. Really though – this is just a reminder to stock up on the fuel that you know works best for you. They’ll have lots of options at the expo, but you’ll probably save a little bit if you get them in advance of your trip!
10 – Snacks
I know you’re going to be spending a lot of time snaking in the parks, but you’re also going to be spending a lot of time OFF YOUR FEET at your resort to prep for the bigger races! So, bring some snacks. Bring lots of snacks!!
I hope this little list is helpful and you’re able to get a few things checked off of your to-do list in advance! You can also have these items shipped directly to your resort hotel if you’d like, just keep in mind that Disney does charge a $5 delivery fee for packages shipped… worth it if you’re trying to save on those checked bag fees!!
